There are several modalities depending on the client’s need such as Person Centred Therapy (PCT) - is a non directive Humanistic approach, working with the present, and reflections and allowing the client to lead the sessions, Psychodynamic - safely takes the client back to the past to unlock the subconscious links to the present thoughts, feelings and behaviours, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - directly and rapidly helps clients to address irrational beliefs and unhelpful or unhealthy thinking patterns. Other areas of work include Gestalt Therapy - understanding patterns within the relationships, the ‘empty chair technique’ and noticing the dialogue and roles one regresses to during dysfunctional relationships, Life Coaching, Motivational Interviewing techniques can unblock cognitive dissonance, empowering and inspiring clients to live their true potential, Dialectical Behaviour
Therapy (DBT) is to strike a balance between acceptance of who you are and your challenges and the benefits of change. Mindfulness is a modified form of cognitive therapy that incorporates mindfulness practices that include present moment awareness and breathing exercises.

Non-Violent Resistance Intervention
Our NVR Accredited Practitioner helps in building relationships. Are you struggling with a child's behaviour? Stand firm against physical or verbal violence due to a lack of understanding of Autism, mental health, etc.
Are you struggling with your parenting style? Or in the process of adopting a child? You are at the right place; we can support you.
What is NVR?
NVR stands for Non-Violent Resistance and was originally developed as an approach to parenting and caring for those young people who are violent, risk-taking, aggressive or self-destructive.
The technique is now being used in a variety of settings, including work in communities and schools and also with adults.
Do you need support with Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) - this enables you to share the problem and makes it more likely for you and your child to succeed in reducing violence.
Many families experiencing child violence find that they have become increasingly isolated and keep quiet about what is happening.
Keeping silent can help to keep the violence going, but involving supporters is a respectful and sensitive way of breaking the silence.
Our vision is a nation where HIV is no longer a threat to health or happiness, dignity and equality, and to reduce or end new HIV transmissions.
We strive to serve individuals, communities, and providers across the nation, recognising that needs and cultural differences exist.
We are committed to ensuring the information we produce on all aspects of HIV is: Accurate, Accessible, Evidence-based, Relevant and up to date, rooted in the experiences of those most affected by HIV.
We work to change lives by sharing information about HIV:
People with HIV can contribute their expertise and share their experiences by being part of our peer review panels. Members of this panel will provide us with comments on our patient information booklets and other resources for people with HIV.
Your feedback and input really do make a difference. If you would like to comment on any of the Phoenix Support Centre resources, please contact us.
